Waterdog in the 1950s

This is our earliest picture of Waterdog and she was on the Aire and Calder canal near Polington lock. A large blow-up of this photo was in the lock keepers house in 2007 when we passed through. He saw Waterdog in the lock and then brought out the large print in its frame to show us saying "Is this the real Waterdog?". I guess she looked a bit different with the wheelhouse taken off and a temporary wooden frame put in its place. We think the print used to be onboard Waterdog until she was towed to Goole for scrap in 1996. The other barges in the picture were "Lilianne" and "Esso Leeds".
